Friends,
As we continue to process this week’s events, our friends at Tech:NYC rallied many of our peers to put together a statement. We encourage you to add your name and share with your teams, encouraging them to sign on as well.
Friends,
How is everyone doing?
We too were glued to our feeds as the violence unfolded yesterday in DC. We don’t usually dig deeply into national news unrelated to tech but are compelled to unequivocally condemn the attempted insurrection. Fair elections and the peaceful transfer of power are the foundation of our country.
As an organization primarily concerned with community and civic engagement, we have faith that our democracy will prevail as it has throughout history. Peace will be restored, electoral votes have been certified, and a new president will be sworn in. But the fracturing of our community and civic life will take a long time to repair. Never before has there been a clearer call for your participation. We’re committed to continuing to help you learn about the systems and people that keep our nation, city, and community moving forward.
In solidarity,
The sea.citi Team
